Hoary Skullcap (Downy Skullcap)

The flowers are violet-blue in colour with a lightly spotted lower lip. A drought and light shade tolerant plant it is an excellent candidate for use in a shady forest landscape. It has oval, heart-shaped leaves which are quite distinctive for this genus.

Plant in an average to dry soil, in partial to full shade. It is drought tolerant once established, however, full sun and moist, soil conditions are also tolerated. Prune after the flowers have died back to improve its compact habit.
