Quercus shumardii

Shumard Oak (Spotted Oak)

A pyramidal tree when young, maturing to a broad, open crown with age. The shiny, dark green leaves are deeply lobed and take on a red to orange-red colour in the fall. Their acorns are not produced until the tree is at least 25 years old.
