Ironwood (Hop Hornbeam)

An oval to rounded, ornamental tree without any serious pests or diseases. The birch-like, green foliage turns yellow in autumn and often falls early. The reddish-brown male flowers and greenish female flowers appear in separate catkins, followed by sac-like, seed-bearing pods somewhat resembling the hop fruit.
