Growing & Maintenance Tips for Pieris japonica 'Cavatine'

Pieris grows best in constant moisture, (but not standing water), in a fertile soil with a low pH. Seed capsules should be removed to promote next year's flower. Young plants can benefit from protection (burlap wrap) against drying winter winds and winter sun in an exposed location. Use as an informal hedge or for hiding the leggy stems of taller shrubs.
