An interesting, small, shrubby tree with horizontal branching, clusters of fragrant, creamy-white flowers, and dark bluish-black berries. The glossy green leaves turn red in autumn.

Native to Ontario and other parts of North America.
Grows best in medium moisture and a well-drained soil, however, they will tolerate a wide range of soils. Thrives in some shade and in full sun if roots are shaded.
