Common Bald Cypress (Swamp Cypress)
A slender, pyramidal, deciduous conifer exhibiting horizontal branchlets and reddish-brown bark. The graceful foliage sprays are bright yellow-green in the spring, sage-green in the summer, turning to orange-brown in the fall before shedding.

The common bald cypress is native to southern American swamps, bayous and rivers. It is primarily found in coastal areas from Maryland to Texas and in the lower Mississippi River Valley.

While taxodium have the appearance of evergreens, they shed their needles every fall.
A large ornamental tree for parks or large lawns. Good selection for growing in wet soils either in low spots or near water.
Note: Chlorosis often occurs in an alkaline soil.
