Growing & Maintenance Tips for Pinus strobus 'Contorta'

This pine is naturally an open grower, however, pinching the candles mid-spring will encourage a more compact form. Its contorted needles give it great visual appeal in all four seasons. This cultivar is intolerant of urban pollution, therefore, inner city or urban streetside plantings should be avoided. It will benefit from planting in a sheltered location to reduce wind burn.
