Deciduous, coniferous tree that grows in a conical shape. Soft, flat, yellow needles turn an amber-orange colour in the fall. Use as a specimen, for screening, or in a group setting. Needles won't burn in the sun.
While metasequoia have the appearance of an evergreen, they shed their needles every fall. Typically branched to the ground, they can be pruned up to expose the trunk.
