A rounded shrub with red buds opening to flat-clustered blooms of bright pink. The foliage is green with purple tips, burgundy in the fall. It is suitable for a foundation planting or hedge with good heat and drought tolerance.

Summer flowering spirea will flower with a good flush in late spring, and sporadically during the summer. To promote a second flush of bloom, remove spent flowers by pinching or light shearing. Pruning for shape should be done in early spring to allow the flower buds to form.
